JANUARY
There were 769 families in emergency homeless accommodation in January 2016. This is following December 2015, whereby there were 683 families in emergency accommodation.
FEBRUARY
The number of people accessing emergency shelters across the State was up by almost 50 per cent in February.
MARCH
There are 955 families living homeless, 625 of which are single-parent families. A net 152 people became homeless in March alone, an increase of 3%, leaving an overall figure of 5,963 accessing local authority managed emergency accommodation. There has been an incredible 103% increase in the number of homeless families.
APRIL
The number of homeless children has risen by more than 100pc in a year.
MAY
The results of the 2016 census put the number of vacant homes at 198,358.
JUNE
2,177 children in emergency homeless accommodation with their families.

On World Homeless Day, Monday 10/10 2016, there are more than 6,600 people, including 2,300 children in emergency accommodation, the highest figure since records began.
